Spring Break is that one week where University stops and we all get a breather from our studies (even if it is a brief one). But whether you have had your entire spring break planned out with fun things to check off your list, or you have left the entire week open, here are just a few things I have thought of to add to spring break (even if you only have a couple days left like me)!
1. Mini Spa Day
This is my favorite! Many times my sister and I will grab whatever spa products we have shoved under the bathroom sink and go all out with face masks and manicures. Even if you are alone a simple home spa day can be a real treat. I love to take the opportunity to test out the little cosmetic samples I have accumulated over time on these days. I love to do this especially on a day before you are headed back to school or work.
2. Mini Cafe Hop
This is a new idea that I came up with and will most definitely be doing myself this spring break! If you are someone who hasn't done much or gone anywhere this spring break this would be a fun way to make it feel like you are on a mini get-away. Look up a couple of cute local cafes in your town and spend one meal at each (keep in mind some cafes might close before dinner though). I think it would be fun to imagine yourself as a guest to your own city, and treating yourself to a nice meal is always a great reward!
3. Read-a-thon or Watch-a-thon
Okay, this one is obvious. Maybe you have packed your spring break schedule so tight you are starting to feel like it isn't a break at all! I have definitely fallen victim to doing this on several occasions. Well, taking a day to relax, make a cup of tea and get through a book you have been dying to read, or a series on your Netflix queue. It always slows time down and has left me feeling relaxed every time I do it! And what would spring break be without Netflix?!
4. Mini Cook-Off
This one might be a little risky, but can payoff big time! Grab a couple friends and challenge them to a cook off! I've always wanted to participate in those food network cooking shows and a do it at home version would be so fun! The reason I say it might be a little risky is 1) open flames... I mean, c'mon.. and 2) If you aren't a good cook (like me) you might end up hungrier after than when you started! But those things aside, it sounds way more fun than it does dangerous! Get as creative as you like with the challenges too. And if you want to try this solo, one of my favorite things to do (mainly to remedy my poor cooking skills) is to find a new recipe and try it out!
Any of these things can be done on the very last day of Spring Break! But the most important thing is to take time for yourself. Life can be hectic and I always have to remind myself to stop, breathe, and enjoy the present moment. Spring Break is the perfect time to reward yourself for working so hard!
I hope some of these ideas give you inspiration! What are some of the things that you like to do on Spring Break?
